Head Chef

Job Summary. Join us as head ched when we open our new eatery at Bread 41.

Executive Chef and sous chef(s) needed to properly execute all aspects of good production, preparation of dishes and dealing with all food related items and management of the kitchen while also ensuring execution and overseeing of all thing kitchen related and from a cleaning perspective.

Activities & Responsibilities Include but not exclusive to the following

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with our Bread 41 Values. Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Bread 41.
  • Act with the utmost integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote our unique company culture.
  • Contribute to create a work environment based on respect for eachother.
  • Arrive on time ready to work for your shifts in question.
  • Understand all aspects of the menu to developed by you and the kitchen management team and how to execute each component
  • Understand the quality of product expected by Bread 41 and how to ensure every dish is achieving of that standard.
  • Works cleanly, ensuring that every station is cleaned after every project executed
  • Execute recipe processes and techniques developed by you and the kitchen management team to ensure consistency and quality
  • Work through a clearly defined process and ensure that you are prepared for the day ahead.
  • Communicates with following day’s shift on operational issues.
  • Coordinates daily tasks with the team.
  • Execute menus developed by you and the kitchen management team.
  • Ensure everyone takes ownership of their own stations to include a good understanding not only how to make dishes that are made on the station, but also the skills required in completing all necessary prep work to properly execute all the dishes.
  • Assist your team members and other areas of the Bread 41 business when needed.
  • Is able to work a station up to the Bread 41 standard without needing supervision.
  • Clean all equipment and workspaces following specific cleaning procedures set forth by the management team.
  • Communicate with all team members respectfully and professionally.
  • Maximize efficiency in all areas of production and execute proper time management during shifts
  • Work gracefully in a fast-paced, high-volume workplace
  • Embrace a zero waste working concept in line with our Sustainable Development goals. (SDGS)
  • Work in a thoughtful manner when executing any and all tasks
  • Ask for help when it is needed.
  • Ensure all staff work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Some formal culinary experience essential, but not required.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Current HSAP certified.
  • Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
  • Able to reach, bend and stoop.
  • Must be well groomed, maintain proper hygiene, good posture, and have required uniform and tools.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Training Programme>Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 16 Kilos.

Bakery Staff

Positions open immediately.

We are looking for a senior baker to join our bread team. You will work closely with our head baker on sourdough production, product development and milling of flour. The ideal candidate would have experience working with sourdough, creativity be a team player and align on our values.

  • Stamina and availability to work at least 40hrs per week, including weekends, unsociable hours and some holidays.

PASTRY BAKER

Job Summary
As a member of the pastry team, bakers will execute all tasks related to assembling, mixing, and finishing pastries while adhering to the Bread 41 values, vision and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with our business values.
  • Contribute to create a culture and work environment based on respect for eachother; providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow, and develop their abilities.
  • Understand all aspects of pastry developed by the pastry management team and how to execute each component according to a clearly define dprocess.
  • Arrive to work on time and ready to start the shift.
  • Understand the quality of product expected by Bread 41.
  • Maintain a clean workstation at all times and follow the required process.
  • Execute recipe processes to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain a prep list to ensure that all components of pastry items are delivered for service in a timely manner and that the next day’s shift is set up with product to execute their day.
  • Communicates with following day’s shift on amounts of product.
  • Execute pastry menus developed by the pastry management team.
  • Properly train, educate, and direct incoming pastry team members.
  • Own the stations  and take responsibility for the station that you are working each day.
  • Help other team members when needed.
  • Clean all equipment and workspaces following specific cleaning procedures set forth by pastry management
  • Communicate with all team members respectfully and professionally, we are a team in everything we do at Bread 41.
  • Maximize efficiency in all areas of production and execute proper time management during shifts
  • Work thoughfully in a fast-paced, high-volume workplace
  • Ask for help when it is needed or help others as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have an intercert, formal culinary education is preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in kitchen preparation.
  • Be able to communicate and understand English.
  • Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
  • Must maintain good hygiene, good posture, and have required uniform and tools.
  • Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Bread 41.
  • Possess creative solution thinking and be resourceful.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (minimum of 8 hours a day).
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 16 Kilos.
