Eatery & Cafe Manager

Activities and Responsibilities:

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the values of Bread 41.
• Adhere to very specific Health and Safety standards.
• Responsible for sourcing and placing all food and non-food orders.
• Run Front of house
• Ensure time and attendance and payroll records are kept up to date.
• Be there to support your team by providing solutions and being proactive
• Ensure that every Bread 41 customers is welcomed and is always acknowledged warmly.
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the Bread 41 quality standards
• Achieve company objectives in terms of sales, service, quality through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
• Control inventories of food, equipment, small ware, and report shortages
• Perform various roles, such as hiring and individual staff relations, providing employee orientation and training, and conducting supervisory activities, such as creating work schedules or organizing employee time-sheets
• Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs
• Contribute to stock taking and stock ordering

Wait Staff

Job Summary
Various jobs across our cafe and restaurant and will include the following activities and responsibilities.

Activities & Responsibilities

  • Able to perform in designated stations and/or rotation as business levels dictate
  • Able to complete checklists as necessary and as directed including opening, closing and mid shift task lists
  • identify room needs and deficiencies on an ongoing basis with the ability to address them independently
  • Able to brew coffee, make cocktails, pour wine, run food
  • Setup & cleaning tables, set up family meal
  • Clean and sanitize doorknobs, handrails, surfaces before and after every use
  • Restock product, fold boxes, pack to-go orders, fold towels
  • Manage flow and sequence of service including greeting guests, support flow of traffic lines
  • Take orders, manage reservations

Porter/Dishwasher

Job Summary
Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible. Collect and wash up pots, pans and plates. Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery. Unload food and equipment deliveries. Keep the storeroom organised. Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitized.

Activities & Responsibilities

  • Wash crockery and utensils
  • Daily clean of kitchen areas
  • Deep clean of kitchen equipment
  • Keep stores areas neat and tidy
  • Keep refrigeration and freezers organized
  • Report failing equipment to supervisor
  • Report health and safety hazards to supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with staff
  • Contribute to stock taking as required
  • Provide Porter support with deliveries
  • Provide Porter support in all areas controlled by Bread 41
  • Accept training to enable safe completion of duties

Chef De Partie

  • Works cleanly, ensuring that every station is cleaned after every project executed.
  • Execute recipe processes and techniques developed by the kitchen management team to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Work through a clearly defined process and ensure that you are prepared for the day ahead.
  • Communicate with following day’s shift on operational issues.
  • Coordinates daily tasks with the team.
  • Execute menus developed by the kitchen management team.
  • Ensure everyone takes ownership of their own stations to include a good understanding not only how to make dishes that are made on the station, but also the skills required in completing all necessary prep work to properly execute all the dishes.
  • Work with your team members and other areas of the Bread 41 business when needed.
  • Is able to work a station up to the Bread 41 standard without needing supervision.
  • Clean all equipment and workspaces following specific cleaning procedures set forth by the management team.

BAKERY STAFF

We are looking for a senior baker to join our bread team. You will work closely with our head baker on sourdough production, product development and milling of flour. The ideal candidate would have experience working with sourdough, creativity be a team player and align on our values.

PASTRY BAKER

Job Summary
As a member of the pastry team, bakers will execute all tasks related to assembling, mixing, and finishing pastries while adhering to the Bread 41 values, vision and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all aspects of pastry developed by the pastry management team and how to execute each component according to a clearly define dprocess.
  • Arrive to work on time and ready to start the shift.
  • Understand the quality of product expected by Bread 41.
  • Maintain a clean workstation at all times and follow the required process.
  • Execute recipe processes to ensure consistency and quality
  • Maintain a prep list to ensure that all components of pastry items are delivered for service in a timely manner and that the next day’s shift is set up with product to execute their day.
  • Communicates with following day’s shift on amounts of product.
  • Execute pastry menus developed by the pastry management team.
  • Properly train, educate, and direct incoming pastry team members.
  • Own the stations  and take responsibility for the station that you are working each day.
  • Help other team members when needed.
  • Clean all equipment and workspaces following specific cleaning procedures set forth by pastry management

  • Must maintain good hygiene, good posture, and have required uniform and tools.
